DETAILS
When: Saturday, April 6 @ 2:30 - 3:30 pm Where: Oryana West, 3587 Marketplace Cir. Traverse City, MI 49684 Who: The program is designed for adults WITH their kids ages 4-10. Families are intended to participate together. Space is limited. Please provide an accurate estimate of adults and kids planning to attend by adding tickets to your order. Northern Michigan Climate Families (https://www.instagram.com/nomiclimatefamilies/), in partnership with Crosshatch Center for Art and Ecology (www.crosshatch.org) and Oryana Community Co-op (www.oryana.coop), are hosting a learning program and guided grocery coop tour and at Oryana West. Activities are designed with younger children (4 - 10) in mind and will include fresh food tasting, local food learning, music, and sense-based experiences. We hope that the guided tour time for children will provide some time for adults to connect (kid-free) to discuss hopes and needs for parenting (and co-parenting) with a commitment to earth stewardship, collaboration, and climate action. This event is the first in a series of three Northern Michigan Climate Families “play dates” designed to connect kids and families to their farming neighbors who are leading in land stewardship practices that support the health of people and ecosystems for climate resilience. The second play date will be a curated, family-friendly visit to the Sara Hardy Farmers Market in May 2024, and the third play date will be a guided field trip to a local TC farm in June 2024.
